Hockey Tournament

A huge well done to our hockey team who reached the semi-finals. Some incredibly tense and impressive matches which were very exciting to watch! Fab effort!

Football Club

Monday night is football night! This club is for boys and girls in years 5 and 6 who enjoy football – at any level. We have players who simply enjoy coming along for a ‘kick about’ to those who aspire to be a part of the school football team, representing Deanery at local league games, cup competitions and tournaments. The club promotes enjoyment and inclusion as well as providing coaching to improve skills, communication and team work. Drills, skills and lots of game time fun!

Deanery v Banners Gate Match Report

When we arrived at Banners Gate, the first thing we noticed was the size of the pitch. It was the size of a small 9-a-side pitch. We understood we had to work harder and communicate well as a team. The first two goals were as a result of great chemistry and teamwork. Our third goal was hard, as the rain was against us - the heavens had opened! We had loads of chances but their level of defence worked too well for us to get any more past them in the first half. However, by the end of the half we had tired out the opponents and were ready for the second half. It opened with a great first goal from one of our players - a brilliantly placed goal. This caused the other team to come back hard and score two amazing goals. We were determined not to let anymore in so we scored two more goals just to secure the win for Deanery.

Hockey Club

At hockey club, children develop the key skills such as dribbling and passing. They work on communication and teamwork by developing attack and defence tactics in game play. The club also leads to the opportunity to play in the WSAS competition.

Cross Country Club

At cross country club tonight we talked about the last half term. We have enjoyed running in different conditions, developing stamina and getting to know people from different year groups. Well done everyone for racing against your own time each week. Keep on running.....
