Pudsey Cakes

Today the children made Pudsey cakes! They rolled out the icing and cut into the shape of a teddy bear, added a white bandage over his eye then used icing pens to add the spots and face. We talked about what Children in Need do to help children around the world and how we can help raise money for them.

Bird Feeders

Today the Children made bird feeders using recycled milk bottles, decorated with flower stickers. They learnt how important it is for the birds to eat lots at this time of year to prepare for the winter and how we can help by providing food for them. The children are looking forward to hanging their feeders up at home! We have also hung a few in the Foxes garden.

Diwali Cards

Today the children decorated Diwali cards and coloured in rangoli patterns using lots of different colours, gems and crystals. They also made candles out of card. We read about how in Nepal, they call the festival Tihar, which celebrate the homecoming of Rama and Sita from the Forest. Diwali comes from the word Deepavali, which means row of lights. The children really enjoyed doing their own designs and were able to take their artwork home to share with their family.

Remembrance Day Poppy Cakes

09/11/2018

The children rolled out red icing and cut a circle out for the centre of the flower. They then used their fingers to mould and shape the icing into a poppy. They then used cutters to create a leaf and learnt that the leaf is placed at 11 o'clock under the flower and why this is significant. The children then cut a small circle for the centre of the poppy, and placed their creation onto a small sponge cake which they took home at the end of the day. This activity was enjoyed by all of the children and they got to eat the cakes at the end of the day - yummy!

Gardening at Foxes
