At Deanery CE Primary School, we believe that education is about so much more than lessons. We want every child to feel inspired, valued and excited about learning as they grow and thrive through our vision of “Life in All Its Fullness” (John 10:10).

Roots and Wings is our enrichment programme, giving children the opportunity to choose activities that spark their interests and curiosities. Over several weeks, children can explore new experiences, develop talents, build friendships and challenge themselves in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

The roots represent the strong foundations we help every child develop: faith, values, character, knowledge and the essential skills they need for life. The wings represent the opportunities children have to spread their wings, try new things, discover hidden talents and grow in confidence.

Through a wide range of enriching experiences, children learn to communicate effectively, work as part of a team, solve problems creatively and develop resilience and independence. They are encouraged to share their ideas, listen to others and build meaningful connections within our school and wider community.

Most importantly, Roots and Wings helps children discover what makes them unique. Whether they are exploring a new interest, learning a practical skill or stepping outside their comfort zone, every child is given the opportunity to shine.

We are excited to see our children flourish through this rich and varied programme, developing the confidence, character and skills that will support them both in school and throughout their lives.
