At Deanery Church of England Primary School, personal development is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to nurturing the whole child, helping every pupil to grow academically, spiritually, socially, emotionally and morally so that they can flourish both now and in the future.
Inspired by Jesus' teaching in Luke 10:27, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, love your neighbour as yourself,” we encourage our children to develop a deep understanding of themselves, respect for others, and a sense of responsibility within their communities and the wider world.
Our Christian values of Love, Joy, Peace, Grace, Faith and Hope underpin every aspect of school life. Through love, we foster caring relationships and a strong sense of belonging. Joy inspires us to celebrate learning and recognise the gifts and achievements of others. Peace guides us in building positive relationships and resolving differences with understanding and kindness. Grace teaches us the importance of compassion, forgiveness and treating others with dignity. Faith gives us courage to persevere through challenges and trust in God's guidance. Hope encourages our children to look to the future with confidence, resilience and optimism, believing that they can make a positive difference in the world.
We believe that every child is uniquely created and has God-given talents. Through a rich curriculum, leadership opportunities, enrichment experiences and service to others, pupils are encouraged to discover their strengths, develop confidence and become active, responsible citizens.
By placing personal development at the centre of our curriculum and school culture, we enable children to become caring, confident and courageous individuals who embody our Christian values and are well-prepared to contribute positively to their communities and to flourish in all aspects of life.
