House Captains

At Deanery we have a house system comprising of four houses:

FOX	from the name of the road the school is on.
HOLLIES	from the name of the road the school is on.
BURGESS	Father Henry Burgess is one of the founders of our school.
TUDOR	the Tudor rose is the emblem of Sutton Coldfield.

All children are put into one of the houses and work to represent their house whether it be in sports, collecting behaviour tokens or working in house groups.

Each term we have 2 House Captains chosen from Y6 to represent each house. Candidates have to make a speech outlining why they think they’d make a good House Captain, the other children in their house then vote for the person they think will do the best job. It’s a bit like being an MP for a constituency and all part of a democratic process.
